Poland in NATO early warning system

Poland became a full member of NATO's Airborne Early Warning and Control Program Management Organization (NAPMO) on Jan. 1, the PAP news agency reported.

Relevant accession documents were signed on Dec. 29, the Polish Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

After joining the NAPMO, Poland co-owns 17 AWACS early warning airplanes and three modified Boeings 707-320 C.

In line with a NAPMO tradition, Poland, as a new member, will host a special meeting of NAPMO board of directors, which is scheduled in late February or early March.
