A Smile Made in Poland

The more you smile, the more trustworthy you appear. After your eyes, your mouth is what a person speaking to you notices most often. So it is not surprising that interest in cosmetic dentistry is growing.

According to recent research, 75 percent of people are not satisfied with their teeth and would be willing to undergo treatment to improve the way they look. A wide range of services is available to change tooth shape, color and symmetry.

White, even, beautiful teeth are a symbol of health and beauty. Missing or worn teeth, typical of old age, change the way a face looks in a fundamental way.

The process of tooth damage takes a long time. However, if a patient waits too long before taking action, the changes may be irreversible. That is why it is important to replace missing teeth and reconstruct destroyed teeth as accurately as possible, so that they do not undergo wear.

Another form of treatment becoming increasingly popular is permanent fillings used for covering unattractive tooth surfaces next to the lips and cheeks. Mark Porter, a journalist from Edinburgh, had problems with his teeth for several years. He realized that due to long waiting lists for treatment in the British National Heath Service, he would have to wait two years. Meanwhile, treatment by a private dentist would cost nearly Ł10,000. With three sons to support, he could not afford such a bill. He was helped by a friend from Poland who encouraged him to undergo treatment in Warsaw. He flew on a budget airline to Poland, underwent the treatment and soon could smile without any inhibitions. Thanks to treatment in Poland, Porter saved nearly Ł6,000.

British patients arriving in Poland also often order implants, or elements replacing the tooth root. Debra Keane, a retired teacher from the northern city of Leeds, decided to get an implant in Poland. In Britain, she would have to pay Ł3,600. The treatment is costly also in other European countries. For example, the price in Germany is some 2,500 euros and in France around 2,800 euros. In comparison, in Poland you can have the treatment for just 600 euros.

In recent years patients from abroad have been visiting Poland in increasing numbers. The development of budget airlines and big differences in the prices of medical services have led to the development of medical tourism. And Poland is playing a leading role in this part of Europe.

However, medical tourism requires finding good specialists and trustworthy clinics in the foreign country. This is where medical advisors come in. One of them is IQ Medica. It provides innovative services for patients from the European Union. IQ Medica not only helps choose the best specialists and clinics but also arranges the entire stay in Poland. It provides personal assistants who speak the client's native language and who meet the foreign visitor at the airport and provide them with care throughout their stay. The assistant arranges transportation and helps with finding accommodation, in contacts with doctors at the clinic, and with reservations for other events (restaurants, cultural and tourist events, and so on), helping to organize convalescence time that does not require a stay in hospital.

Personal assistant services are offered around the clock. IQ Medica is also attracting more clients in Poland. Its staff provide advice on how to find a specialist or the best clinic.
