Poland's central bank holds interest rates steady

Poland's central bank kept interest rates unchanged on Wednesday, a decision that was widely expected, despite strong economic growth.
The National Bank of Poland said it was keeping its benchmark seven-day intervention rate at 4 percent, an all-time low.
Analysts said they expected the bank to keep rates on hold until early 2007, due to the absence of any short-term threats to price stability.
The bank gave no immediate reason for its decision.
