Poland is hit by UK exodus

MAJOR building projects in Poland are grinding to a halt because hordes of its tradesmen have come to Britain.

he Poles gained £7billion in aid to redevelop their country by becoming part of the EU.

Now there are so few workers at home they cannot spend the money.

The cash — part-funded by UK taxpayers — was meant to be spent on new roads, bridges, tunnels and factories each year until 2013.

But its Transport Ministry has said it cannot find labour to “carry out the work”.

Almost 300,000 labourers have left since Poland joined the EU.

Coming to Britain for work can net them FOUR TIMES as much as back home.
