Intraop Medical Receives Order for Mobetron from Poland; Second Mobetron in Poland and Sixth in Europe

ntraop Medical (OTCBB:IOPM), manufacturer and developer of the Mobetron(R), an innovative machine used to deliver intraoperative radiation treatment (IORT) during cancer surgery, announces that it has received an order for a Mobetron from the Wielkopolskie Centrum Onkologii Cancer Center in Poznan, Poland. The order from Poznan will be the second Mobetron in Poland and the sixth in Europe. The hospital has requested that the unit be delivered before the end of September 2005.

It is gratifying for us to see that intraoperative radiation therapy and the Mobetron will be an integral part of their cancer treatment plan."

Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT) is the direct application of radiation to the tumor or tumor bed while a patient is undergoing surgery for cancer. A single two-minute IORT treatment can often eliminate several weeks of conventional pre- or post-operative external beam radiation therapy because the normal tissues surrounding the tumor can be displaced or protected while IORT is administered as part of the surgical procedure to remove the tumor.
