Poland continues airport capacity expansion

The Civil Aviation Office (ULC) has given permission for the construction of an airport in Świdnik, south-east Poland, with the Office president Grzegorz Kruszyński signing the declaration.

Piotr Jankowski, the press secretary of Lublin Airport, told Radio Lublin that the airport may be built after land has been acquired and plans have been verified.

Not all land designated for the airport has been bought by Port Lotniczy Lublin, the airport company, but intensive buying will commence as of New Year.

Jankowski has said that the declaration is valid for two years, in which all preparations need to be made for the final construction work to go ahead as planned.
