Another HD OB for Poland

High definition television is beginning to consolidate across Europe but Poland in particular is embracing the technology.

Polsat has confirmed its commitment by planning to put a third HD OB truck on the road by the spring of next year.

Polsat transmits a mixture of home-grown drama and entertainment shows and the leading American exports, including Prison Break and the CSI franchise, plus, somewhat bizarrely, Britain's The Benny Hill Show dubbed into Polish.

The broadcaster was the first in Poland to adopt HD. To produce some of its own programming, including sport, Polsat put the country's first two HD OB trucks on the road, most recently a 12-camera unit that was seen at the IBC during September.

A third vehicle is scheduled to join these two early in 2008 and will also feature a Studer Vista 8 digital audio console.
