Eurozet pledges to maintain its position on Poland’s ever-crowded airwaves

Eurozet, owner of radio broadcasters Radio Zet and Radiostacja, has quite cautious development plans.

"Our priority is maintaining the market position of Radio Zet, exploiting its brand and the development of Radiostacja," said Monika Bednarek, president of Eurozet. Radio Zet is the second most popular radio station in Poland after RMF FM, but each entity controls roughly 40% of the market. Many experts claim that both companies will find it hard to maintain a dominant position. "I expect the radio advertising market will grow by 7-10%, but our growth should be similar," said Monika Bednarek. She went on to say that in the mid-term the market should consolidate to around 2-3 players. Eurozet might consider spending up to zł.40 million to take over another broadcaster. "We would like to purchase stations owned by Agora or Eska, but they are not for sale," said Bednarek.
