Poland revises GDP growth forecast downward to 3.7 percent

The Polish economy ministry has revised downward to 3.7 pct its forecast for gross domestic product growth this year from an earlier forecast of 5 pct.

'Given the current economic situation, we believe that growth will be less rapid than previously forecast, at around 3.7 pct,' the ministry said in a report.

The GDP growth rate listed in the 2005 budget was 5 pct, while last year, GDP grew 7 pct.
